Rosefinch is run by Jonathan Swain, an RHS-qualified gardener and garden designer based in North Yorkshire - offering services in garden maintenance, soft landscaping and garden design consultation and advice.

Ethos
I am passionate about creating beautiful gardens and helping to restore nature, whilst using sustainable gardening practices and making green spaces accessible for more people. In designing gardens, I love to create spaces that are sustainable and universal - gardens that are good for nature and for people too, no matter the size of the garden.

Care goes into looking after existing plants in the garden and also into choosing plants that benefit pollinators and wildlife (such as wildflowers and ornamentals) and additionally plants that give back to people (such as dwarf fruit trees and edible plants in smaller gardens, or in larger gardens, areas for a small orchard or a herb garden) - these act wonderfully as both a source of organic food and of aesthetic value in the garden. I also like to take an approach that considers all of the seasons in the garden, by including a range of autumn and winter flowering plants that will bring beauty and life to the garden all throughout the year.
